ABCA, MPD Padlock 50th Illegal Cannabis Shop

Today, April 24, 2025, the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA) and Metropolitan Police department closed and padlocked Orbit DC located at 1919-1921 18th Street NW marking the District Government’s 50th illegal cannabis shop closure in DC.
Illegal shop closures have taken place across the city with 17 in Ward 1, 10 in Wards 2 and 6, seven in Ward 4, three in Ward 5, and one in Wards 3, 7 and 8 each respectively.

On November 26, 2024, the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration’s (ABCA) Enforcement Division, accompanied by Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers, implemented a Closure Order involving an illegal cannabis business: Peace in the Air at 2118 18th Street, NW, First Floor, Washington DC.
The Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis (ABC) Board issued the Closure Order in response to their continued operation as an unlicensed cannabis retailer in violation of a Cease and Desist Order.

On November 14, 2024, the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration’s (ABCA) Enforcement Division, accompanied by Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers, served Closure Orders to the owner of an illegal cannabis business: Trippy Wizard at 1755 S Street, NW, Washington DC.
The Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis (ABC) Board issued the Closure Order in response to their continued operation as an unlicensed cannabis retailer in violation of a Cease and Desist Order.

ABCA Closes Two More Illegally Operating Cannabis Shops

On September 18, 2024, the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration’s (ABCA) Enforcement Division, accompanied by Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers, served Closure Orders to the owners of two illegal cannabis businesses: All American Papers, at 504 H Street, NE, Washington, DC and StonerzDC at 521 H Street, NE, Washington DC.
The Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis (ABC) Board issued the Closure Orders to All American Papers and StonerzDC in response to their continued operation as unlicensed cannabis retailers in violation of Cease and Desist Orders.
