Overview 

On-Premises Retailers, Off-Premises Retailers, and Manufacturers with an On-Site Sales and Consumption Endorsement must have the license holder or an ABC Manager on-duty and physically on-site to legally sell and serve alcohol.

Businesses may meet this requirement by:

• Having an employee holding an ABC Manager license on-duty and on-premises while open to the public. ABC Manager licenses are issued to and maintained by the person named on the license and are not controlled by any venue.
  
  AND/OR
   
• Securing an ABC Manager Endorsement which permits the business to designate up to five (5) employees of their choosing as ABC Managers. Up to five (5) additional employees for a total of 10 may be designated ABC Managers for a per person registration fee. A business may substitute, add, and/or remove employees as needed. The endorsement is issued to and maintained by the business for the valid period of its alcohol license. 

Eligibility 

Endorsement applicants must be at least 21 years of age. 

ABC Manager designated employees must be at least 21 years of age and complete an ABC Board-approved alcohol awareness training program.

To Apply, Renew, or Make Modifications to ABC Manager Designates

Establishments (Applicants) must submit an ABC Manager Endorsement Application. Each employee that the business intends to designate as an ABC Manager and as part of its endorsement must submit an ABC Manager Application for the first five managers without payment. An ABC Manager Application must be submitted for each additional manager after the first five managers. 

Additional ABC Manager Applications, up to 10, require immediate payment of the initial fee. Applications received for 11 or more ABC Managers must pay an additional fee per applicant. 

To substitute, add, and/or remove an employee as an ABC Manager designate, licensees must complete the Employee ABC Manager Application by checking the relevant designation.

Valid Period and Fees 

Endorsements are valid for the duration of the alcohol license.

Of Note 

ABC Managers working under the licensee's endorsement must renew their ABC Manager credentials at the same time that the licensee renews their main ABCA license.
