Liquor License Coming Available September 15 for Restaurant in Georgetown

One alcoholic beverage license for a restaurant in Georgetown will be open for application beginning at 8:30 am on Tuesday, September 15.

The license came available after a liquor license application for a restaurant in Georgetown was withdrawn on Wednesday, September 9. Liquor licenses for restaurants in Georgetown are limited due to a cap that exists on the number that can be issued in the neighborhood. Under the Georgetown Moratorium Zone regulations, a maximum of 68 restaurants are permitted to be licensed in the area. There are currently 67 liquor licenses issued to restaurants in Georgetown.

The application for the license is available online but must be submitted in person to the Alcoholic Beverage Regulations Administration’s (ABRA) office. Any applicant must be the actual owner of the business. A business interested in applying can do so beginning at 8:30 am on Tuesday, September 15:
