ABC Board Continues to Suspend McFadden’s Liquor License

Friday, January 9, 2015

(Washington, DC) – The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (Board) today continued to suspend McFadden’s alcoholic beverage license at a hearing held this morning.

A subsequent hearing will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, January 28 where the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) will have the opportunity to bring formal charges against McFadden’s. In addition, the Board would address any charges and can pursue penalties against the licensee. A final determination will also be made by the Board at that time on whether to revoke, fine, further suspend or end the suspension of McFadden's license.

The Board originally suspended McFadden's alcoholic beverage license on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 after it found the establishment presented an imminent danger to the health and safety of the public. The Board made its decision after reviewing a thorough investigation conducted by the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA) of a violent incident that occurred on Saturday, December 27, 2014 where five people were stabbed inside of the establishment.

The Board's Order on Continued Suspension can be reviewed on ABRA's website.
