Overview
Permits alcohol licensed establishments to sell and serve alcohol on new or expanded street-level outdoor public space other than the sidewalk not licensed by ABCA. Examples include the use of a parking lane of a roadway or part of a public alley.
Eligibility
On-premises retailer licensees, common carriers, Convention Center food and alcohol retailers, and manufacturers with an on-premises endorsement, e.g., summer garden or sidewalk café.
Locations must be located in a DC Office of Zoning-designated commercial or mixed-use zone.
To Apply
Prospective licensees must submit an Alcohol License Application and select “New” in the “Application Type” of “Section One” AND “Streatery” in the Endorsements Section.
Current licensees must submit a Streatery Endorsement Application.
All applications are subject to a 45-day public comment period and ABC Board approval.
All applications must provide a DDOT permit prior to final issuance of a Streatery endorsement from the Board. Direct all guideline questions to DDOT at (202) 673-6813 or [email protected].
Valid Period and Fees
The annual fee for a Streatery Endorsement is $100.

Of Note
Streateries must comply with the District’s Department of Transportation guidelines.
