2026 Special Event Extended Hours

Overview 

Allows alcohol-licensed establishments to sell, serve, and permit the consumption of alcohol between 6:00 a.m.- 4:00 a.m. and operate 24 hours daily during the special events.

Eligible ABCA licensees can register to extend both alcoholic beverage service and operational hours for these cultural and tourism-related events:

  • Art All Night: Starts the evening of Friday, September 11, and ends at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 13.
  • Congressional Black Caucus Weekend: Starts the evening of Friday, September 18, and ends at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 20.

Eligibility 

On-Premises Retailers and Manufacturers with an On-Site Sales and Consumption Permit, including Temporary Licenses, are eligible.  

Settlement Agreements and Board Orders may affect participation and eligibility. 

Registration in ABCA’s Extended Holiday Hours Program and previous special event application approvals do not extend to the aforementioned special events. 

Fees

The non-refundable registration fee is $100 for each event. 

To Apply

The registration window for each event will open at least 60 calendar days prior to the start date and closes three calendar days prior to the start date. Late applications will not be accepted.

Of Note

ABCA will issue a permit that must be displayed next to your alcohol license during the period of extended hours.  

A roster of approved establishments will be published on ABCA’s website and provided to the Metropolitan Police Department and ABCA Enforcement Division.
