WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Ward 2 resident Jeni Hansen was sworn in to the District’s Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board Wednesday, for a term ending May 7, 2023.
Hansen, an event strategist and media consultant, also runs operations at Bené Millinery, owned by her grandmother, centenarian entrepreneur Vanilla Beane. Hansen currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Boston College Alumni Association, and also its esteemed Women's Council.
Hansen joins Chairperson Donovan W. Anderson (W7), Bobby Cato Jr. (W5), Rafi Aliya Crockett (W5), James Short, Jr. (W7), and Rema Wahabzadah (W6) on the ABC Board.
Nominations to ABC Board, the entity charged with enforcing DC’s liquor laws and approving ABC license applications, are made by Mayor Muriel Bowser and approved by the DC Council.
