ABC Board Suspends McFadden’s Liquor License

Tuesday, December 30, 2014
Suspension is the result of violence that occurred at the establishment on December 27.

(Washington, DC) – The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (Board) unanimously decided today to suspend McFadden’s alcoholic beverage license after it found the establishment presents an imminent danger to the health and safety of the public.

As a result, the establishment is prohibited from selling and serving alcoholic beverages. The Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA) served McFadden’s—located at 2401 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW—with a written notice this evening informing them of the suspension.

The Board made its decision after reviewing a thorough investigation conducted by ABRA of a violent incident that occurred on Saturday, December 27 where five people were stabbed inside of the establishment. McFadden’s has remained closed since 4 pm on Saturday, December 27 under the authority of Metropolitan Police Department Chief Cathy L. Lanier.

Complete details of the Board’s decision can be reviewed in the Notice of Summary Suspension available on ABRA’s website.
